Progress

I haven't updated in a while so I thought I would post a in progress piece.
lately i've been doing a lot of experimenting/working out techniques.
but i've failed way more than i've succeeded, for surrreeee.
so after rubbing my painting out in frustration and going home to lie down in bed and stare at the ceiling for a bit, i thought about what i actually LIKE doing and what works for me. Such as drawing(which comes way more naturally than painting). When i look back at a lot of the stuff i've done, there really isn't anything i'm too excited about mostly because everything seems like it's a hit or miss (which was funny because Frank Stockton said he felt the same way about his student work in one of this blog entries). which isn't really SO bad, but right now, there are way to many misses. Also there are too many influences and too little dadu. Thats why i like sketchbooking. it's easier to be dadu. YUP ramble ramble, i apologize for wasting your time. take it easy everyone. PEACE.

so, starting off with a drawing (keeping in mind that the paint is going to come next). kind of what i did in high school, when my art brain was still a little ignorant piece of....brain.

The Society of Illustrators Student show was last Friday.
it was crazy. crazy awesome. very inspiring and very humbling.
really great meeting other students too...really cool peoples and artists.
unfortunately i didn't get to stay and meet and greet all of my heroes, and others who hold celebrity status with me. A big thank you to the society and Scott Bakal, and my teachers, especially Susan Doyle and Fred Lynch. All in all, it was a great night, makes me want to do it again!
